PlayStation Experience 2016 Rap-Up

Oh, what a morning! PSX 2016 just finished its opening conference, and it was full of trailers and reveals, but I know that everyone’s busy so I’ll wrangle up all of the big reveals and trailers, and you can read and watch right here. No need to thank me, it’s really no trouble.

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy

The conference opened with a long gameplay segment from what was revealed to be an upcoming single-player expansion for Uncharted 4. The footage follows a woman in a full burka moving through a middle eastern city that is clearly war torn. She makes her way to a rooftop where it’s revealed that the player character is Chloe, one of Drakes associates and former love interest originally introduced in Uncharted 2. The trailer also featured Nadine Ross, who was one of the main antagonists of Uncharted 4 so I assume this is a prequel, but we’ll have to wait and see.

Marvel Vs. Capcom Infinite

The rumors were true, the fourth installment in the Marvel Vs. Capcom series is real. Gameplay won’t be shown until Capcom’s PSX panel, but the trailer did show us Megaman X and Captain Marvel as new additions. As an added bonus you can pick up Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 on PS4 right now.

Crash N.Sane Trilogy

We got our first look at the remastered Crash Trilogy for PS4, and it looks phenomenal. It’s clear these games have been rebuilt from the ground up. We’ll see for ourselves in 2017 but until then check out the trailer.

Resident Evil VII

We didn’t get a whole lot of new info on Resident Evil 7, but we did get a new trailer and news that the final update to the demo goes live today and is compatible with PSVR.

Parrapa the Rapper 20th Anniversary

Word got out last night that we may be getting some news about old Parappa at PSX so the announcement of a remastered 20th anniversary Parappa wasn’t a surprise, but it would seem we’re also getting Loco Roco and Patapon, so that’s something to get hyped for.

Other Mentions

A few other loose ends included news on Wind Jammers coming to PS4 and Vita, Surgeon Simulator VR, Lara Croft Go, and Garou Mark of the Wolves are all out now on PS4. We saw new Trailers for Ni No Kuni II and Knack 2 for some god damn reason and games like the New Dangan Ropa, and Ni-oh all had trailers to show off with. You’ll be able to pick up Akuma in Street Fighter V on December 20th as well.

The Last of Us Part II

To close the ceremony with a bang Naughty Dog unveiled the first trailer for The Last of Us Part II. The game is in super early development, so it’ll probably be out in 2019 at the earliest, but I can’t help but be excited. Check out the trailer below.
